Meet Dr Selina Samuels
Dr Samuels and her Education team developed Cluey's unique CENTRE approach, and have created interactive learning programs that map to the curriculum and allow students to work at their own level and pace.

Cluey's Intermediate English learning programmes are based on the New Zealand Curriculum for K-6 and focus on core literacy skills, including reading and writing techniques in the early years, and grammar and punctuation in the senior years. Our personalised approach gives your child the opportunity to slow down in the areas they find challenging to ensure they ‘get it’.

Joel is a student at Bond University in Queensland, completing a Bachelor of Law and International Relations. Joel tutored throughout secondary school, and participates in an English club at his University for additional learners, and currently works as a research assistant. Joel has a love for English and experienced in tutoring students with various learning needs including Anxiety, ADHD, Dyslexia/Dyscalculia, Auditory Processing Disorders and Speech Disorders.

She commenced her Bachelor of Science/Arts at Monash University in 2019 and is working as a casual relief teacher with Years 3-7 in Literacy. Clare has a great passion for teaching others and believes that it is important to create a fun environment where students feel safe to make mistakes and ask questions.

Dawn completed her Bachelor of Creative Services with a Writing minor in 2013 followed by her Masters in Design in 2016. She commenced her Bachelor of Education with an English major in 2020. She has several years experience as a formal English tutor to primary and secondary students, both online and face to face. Dawn is an approachable, friendly and encouraging tutor. She encourages students to overcome whatever they're struggling with, assisting students in breaking down and understanding complex essay questions and more.

Weekly learning through live tutoring sessions, feedback & practice
Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.
Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.
After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.

First 5 Minutes
Establishing the session theme, why are we here?
- Discuss student’s areas of focus (if first session)
- Review previous session's assigned practice (if subsequent session)
- Set session learning goals
45 Minutes
During the session
- Work through exercises based on the topics and concepts for each learning goal
- Tutor demonstrates, guides and explains concepts
