Here are some of our frequently asked questions to help you out.

Our online platform is where our students and tutors work together in real time, using video, audio, a virtual whiteboard, and the learning course content.

These are the sessions you have with your tutor on our online platform. You, your group and your tutor can see and hear each other using real-time video and audio, and work through your learning course together using a virtual shared whiteboard.

You don’t need any special software or downloads for your Cluey Learning tutoring sessions, just a laptop or computer with an internet connection, audio and a web cam. We provide everything else. The sessions are always live, in real time and interactive.

The Cluey platform runs on Windows or Mac desktop and laptop computers. In addition, a mouse, camera, microphone and speaker are required. A digital pen may also be useful. Our platform doesn’t yet work on mobile devices.

When you enrol, we’ll send you a link to our learning platform, and run some tests to make sure everything’s working before your first online session.

Yes. Our Education Team maps all our content to the New Zealand Curriculum. All content is relevant to your child’s school syllabus and what they’re covering in the classroom.

Every tutoring session is designed to be very interactive with their expert tutor guiding the student through theory, worked examples and practice questions. Integrated video and audio communication is two way, which is the most effective method of learning. Our tutoring platform encourages high levels of engagement and focus for children of all ages.

You should allow between 1.5 – 2 hours each week which would cover the learning / tutoring sessions and individual practice activities.

You can join a small group at any time. Small group sessions are available all year round with a variety of fixed start times each week on weekdays and weekends.

Since your small group sessions are scheduled weekly at a fixed time, we’re unable to reschedule your session if you miss it. You’ll still have access to the session report (summary) and your next set of practice activities (your practice activities will be automatically available even if you can’t make the session). A recording of the session will be available on request (by contacting the Customer Care team), which will allow you to review what was covered.

We accept VISA or Mastercard debit or credit card payments.

Payment is taken weekly based on your recurring weekly billing period, usually 6 days in advance of your next session.

Our tutors include teachers, top achievers and subject matter experts who are located throughout New Zealand and Australia. Before becoming a Cluey tutor, every tutor goes through a rigorous selection process to ensure we recruit the best people, with only 6% of tutors who apply making the grade. Thereafter, we train, support, develop and constantly review our tutors to ensure they provide consistently good quality teaching that’s right for your child.

We’ve helped families around New Zealand

From catching up, building confidence and excelling in school, parents and students alike agree that Cluey works.

Cluey are just WONDERFUL

“Our 10 year old started group tutoring with Cluey this past week, and she absolutely loves it. Lauren totally rocks. Our daughter normally struggles to sit still and focus, and often says she ‘can’t do’ something, even when we know she can. But she can’t stop talking about it, looking forward to the ongoing sessions with you guys. Thank you so much.”
